That which has been ridiculed,
and then shunned,
isolated from the whole,
for an atrocity that violated their very essence
and left them feeling stripped of who they were
and who they could be,
had the sends of destruction and devastation
not been planted well inside their personal space –
By someone else.
Someone who never saw the soul behind the eyes.
Someone who never heard their song of promise for the world.
Someone who never felt the longings that lived inside their heart,
Someone who never cared what it felt like to have your very essence violated.
Or maybe that someone was someone who indeed knew all too well the feeling of the essence violated. And to ease the unremitting pain, they deadened their senses. No longer able to see the soul behind others eyes, or hear the beautiful songs of promise of their Earthbound brothers and sisters, or feel longings in their once loving heart. Maybe that someone had never felt the genuine caring from someone else who understood what it felt like to have your essence violated.
Maybe that someone had been treated as an object, a lesser-than “thing”.
And knew no better way of being.
The future holds a light and possibility that all human beings,
male or female, black or white, cocoa or with a yellow hue,
gay or straight, rich or poor, may seek and find
equality and connection,
justice and peace,
truth and love
true, rich, deep, complete joy!
the joy of wholeness.
A joy worth dancing for.
