Living Art America, The Chelko Foundations annual fundraiser, awarded $11,500 in Artist Grants at this year’s event.
Starting in 2010 as a unique fundraiser, Bodies as Works of Art has grown significantly and developed into one of the world’s most recognized bodypainting events and competitions. Living Art America has earning the distinction as the only officially sanctioned competition in the Western Hemisphere and recognized as the North American Championship.
Created to promote and encourage fine art body painting in North America and beyond, Living Art America continues to partner with and provide long-term support of The Chelko Foundation’s slogan, “Changing the world through art”. The Chelko Foundation sponsors the annual awards for the Championship competition and Living Art America has pledged a portion of the profits from its events to the Foundation’s Scholarship and Grant programs.

ootsies of Atlanta was the backdrop for this year’s Patron Party to kick off the Living Art America / Bodies as A Work of Art show to benefit the Chelko Foundation. Co-Chairs Clea Calloway, Marian Goldberg and Sara Mixon, along with Honorary Chair, Carey Carter joined Randi Layne and Ken Goldwasser to welcome an enthusiastic group of supporters.
The Chelko Foundation is pleased to announce that the third annual Bodies As A work Of art event was a smashing success! This year, the Bodies event was held at The Pilot’s Country Club and it benefitted not only The Chelko Foundation, but also SCAD.

2010 Represented the Inaugural “Bodies as a Work of Art” Event: The success of the inaugural “Bodies as a Work of Art” lead The Chelko Foundation to brand it as their signature fundraising event. Last year’s 400 attendees were treated to a groundbreaking evening of Live Body Art hosted by Mitchell Anderson.
